While I am avoiding my research paper, enjoy this post...

Julie: Hi, I'm Julie, I'm a crazy dog lady.
Crowd: Hi Julie

I learned something about myself today. I am a crazy dog lady.

No, I have not decided to dress Lizzy up for the holidays (although I am not ruling that out just yet, as I haven't planned our annual Christmas card photo shoot yet). And no, I am not throwing her a wedding and marrying her off to the dog next door (although she and Charlie would probably like that).

No, I am one of those, "Is that so-and-so's dog in the front yard? They must have gotten out! I need to run out into the street and try to get them to go back home!" kind of crazy.

Yes, I did it again, I saw that our neighbor's very large and very scary german shepherd was out of their yard and three doors down at the corner house. Jimmy, or so I think he's called, was about to round the block, probably on his way to being lost. So, me, in my infinite wisdom decided to run out my front door clad in my flannel pjs and slippers, to try and get a german shepherd, that I had never met, to follow me back to it's home.

And darn it, if I didn't do it! Running down the street, clapping and calling what I thought was the dog's name...I think I managed to scare him so much that he ran home. He actually ran and sat on his front porch. I can just imagine what my neighbor must have thought when she opened the door (obviously reaching for her mailbox) to find her german shepherd on her front porch and her pj clad neighbor running up the lawn.

While I was thanked and felt that I had done a good deed, I realized today that running around the neighborhood in flannel pajamas is probably the best way to get a very undesirable nickname.  I can imagine it now.

Neighbor #1: So, did you see that Flannel McDog-Chaser re-landscaped her front yard?
Neighbor #2: When does she have time? She's so busy running around the neighborhood in her pajamas!

And that is the 356th thing I have done today, other than finishing a research paper that's due this evening. Yay me.
