Variation on a theme...

...or, JulieU knits something for herself!

This is the same pattern I used for Mrs. Noland's bday scarf. However, I used a Plymouth Encore Colorspun #7022 (worsted weight). After consulting with the boys at Threadbear, I decided to make this scarf a bit more functional by making it warmer, and it turned out well.

I love how this thing looks like those art projects you used to do in grade school. Remember when you would color a piece of paper with crayons and then color over the colors with a black crayon and 'scratch' out a picture. Yep, that's what this scarf reminds me of. And it is WARM!

OTN:
Still wrapping up the white circular baby blanket (I'm still working on the edging).
I've got a few scarves on the needles, but nothing that is destined as a Christmas gift...

As a matter of fact, I don't think I'm doing ANY Christmas knitting. Talk about stress free!

What I'm working on now...

Want to know what I have on needles right now? Want to know what I'm planning on doing next?
Don't care? Shut up.
Then why do you come here?
(Wow, such an aggressive start to a post about knitting)

Here's the hat I spoke of that I'm knitting with sock yarn.

I'm almost at the point where I'll be doing the decreases. I don't know who it's for right now. The colors are a bit on the bright side...and kind of 'rugged' looking.

And how about the poncho I'm knitting (FOR MYSELF!)

The poncho is done in Black-White-Tan Athena yarn(?), KatM6 will know the yarn name if I'm wrong so she can just post the correction in my comments...

Here's a picture of 2 more books (besides the 'Not Just Socks' book) that I bought at Threadbear a few weeks ago...

Knitting for the Pampered Baby has some so-so things in it, but here's what sold me:

Imagine this in annoying pink...for a certain baby who's mother doesn't particularly want pink...(insert evil laugh)

Oh, and this pattern (that was referenced in the Threadbear E-Newsletter this week) has me rethinking my stance on 'NO MORE KNITTED BABY BLANKETS'
